Chapter Eleven

The next week I avoid Atlas as much as I can, dinners are awkward. Lucy is determined to have family dinners every night. Some nights her husband joins us, I can always feel Atlas tense next to me when he eats with us. I spend a lot of time in my room reading wuthering heights. I’ve started to lock my door, to avoid anymore night time creeper incidents. Atlas leaves me be until exactly a week after the lake, I leave my bedroom to go and get a drink and he’s leaning against his door. He stalks straight over to me and pins me against mine.

“Can’t ignore me forever.” He says pinning my hands above my head.

“Get off, I told you nothings going to happen between us.” I say trying to wiggle out of his hold.

“You think I want to be attracted to you?” He spits, “Not my fault my dick hasn’t got the memo, I promised I was going to ruin you. I’m going to ruin you so no one else compares to me.” I hear footsteps on the stairs and he releases me and walks back into his room slamming his door behind him.

“Trouble in paradise?” Hannah asks skipping down the hallway to me.

“Nothing I can’t handle.” I reply as she follows me into my room.

“We are going to a party. Jake throws one every summer and it’s the biggest party of the year.” She squeals.

“Good, I could do with drowning my sorrows.” I say and head to my wardrobe to pick something to wear.

“It’s a special night so you have to look perfect.” She says as we start looking through my clothes.
